Random thoughts for a quiet Saturday...
When I woke this morning, there was a cat sleeping under the covers with me. Given our cat population, that's not totally unexpected, but it has been really warm lately so I was rather surprised. When I saw that the cat was Sweetie I was stunned! She used to sleep under covers with me all the time, and when Mr. Ken and married she stopped, even though she loves Mr. Ken to distraction. Perhaps, 2 years after Sylvia's death, she's finally taking her rightful place as Queen Cat.
Maya is not doing well. She continues to lose weight, and isn't eating much. The vet and I have exhausted the options - no more tests to run, no more guesses about what disease is causing her problems - and continue to concentrate on treating the symptoms. I don't know how much longer I can watch her waste away, but I will not do anything rash.
My plan for this weekend involves lots of knitting, but it's so hot that I'm having a hard time with doing it! Perhaps I'll work on small pieces that don't drape over my lap!
We're having a barbeque tonight with Geoff, and Will and Joan. They're all fun, and I'm really looking forward to it! It's the first "party" we've had this summer, and it will be warm enough to really enjoy the patio.
Have a good weekend and enjoy your holiday!
