For Christmas 2006 I bought my Dad this very cool rolling tool kit made by Black and Decker. It has compartments on the top, a removable tray in the top section and another in the bottom section, 2 deep storage areas and a multi-sectioned storage doo-dad that clips on the front.
When we prepared to ship it, as luck would have it, shipping charges for the slowest possible UPS delivery were more than the cost of the tool kit.
Daddy got ties instead. (When we were at his birthday party in October I finally gave him the tool kit; his local hardware store finally had one in stock.)
This weekend, the original tool kit started morphing into my new knitting tote for around the house.
Sorry for the washed out colors; that was the only way to show the cool features!
I don't have one favorite knitting spot in the house, so knitting stuff ends up all over. This, while it seems like overkill, should keep supplies together better. As I move projects into the storage sections, I'm cataloging them for Ravelry (finally).
Obviously, there's more to come where this new tote is concerned!
