I'm a senior technical project manager at work, a knit project starter at home and a list-maker everywhere! I'm married and have too many cats, lots of books, almost enough rose bushes, and way too much yarn!

It's finally dawned on me that, while I mentioned that I finished the Bookworm Vest in December, I never posted a picture of it. My only excuse is "waiting for buttons".
Here's the finished Bookworm, with the button fina

Well, not this week, for sure!
It was an absolutely beautiful northern California Sunday - bright, not a cloud in the sky, just warm enough, and dry. Lovely! So how did we celebrate such loveliness?
We worked in the gardens. In fa
After waffling and agonizing and whimpering, I've made my decision.
I will not be joining in the Knitting Olympics.
It sounds like fun, but it also sounds too much like work. At work, I live and die by schedules and deadlines, and I use

One completed Jaywalker sock, and the second one started!
Progress on the adaptation of the Fall VK #14; so far so good.
Currenly, I'm sitting on the fence regarding the Knitting Olympics.&nb
Talking to my parents the other day, and at the end of the conversation, my Dad casually mentioned that he'd been reading my blog.
Could have knocked me over with a feather!
Not because there's anything here I don't want them to read - for h

The carpet cleaner-steamer was indeed fixed, and I spent several hours this morning cleaning up Maya's indiscretions from the carpet. It looks much better now, well, as much better as detested white carpet can look!
It'd look better longer if

Today is brought to you by the word "frustrated".
Last night I managed to sew exactly 1/2 of a sleeve cap and armhole together. OK, mattress stitch and I are barely on speaking terms, but I really thought I'd get at least 1 sleeve do
Today I spent hours (well, it seemed like hours) in the attic, going through the various boxes of yarn stash up there. The Knitters Group is having a Yarn Swap and Sale next Sunday at our house, and I have a bit of stash I'd be willing sel

The time has come and gone for resolutions which is fine with me. Most years, I make resolutions. They don't necessarily get broken, but they don't get kept either. They get revised, changed, written off, dropped off the list..
Here's what greeted us this morning as I took Mr. Ken to the train station:
While it's not the first sunrise of 2006, it's the first that's not been obscured by heavy overcast and clouds.
In 2005, I knitted a fair amount.
I count 21 finished objects and 5 frogged UFOs. Here's the breakdown of FOs:
2 sweaters (sage and cream Woolspun, yellow Salsa T)
1 vest (rust bookworm)
2 shells (red Saucy soleil

Mr. Ken and I spent parts of New Year's Eve Day life any other Saturday.
We went to Super Slow for weight training to be tortured, and just think, we pay for this!
