It's 9 pm on Wednesday and I'm waiting for my work laptop to boot up and connect remotely so I can work for a couple of hours. Three days into the work week, and I've already logged 33 hours! I'd laugh if I weren't so tired: I love DST because it's light when I get home, and that means there's time to garden a bit. This first week of DST I've had so much work that I haven't been able to enjoy it.
More about my love affair with Daylight Savings Time when I can string some coherent thoughts together. In the meantime, here are some random (slightly incoherent) thoughts:
1. Work is really cutting into my knitting time. I did knit some on the crushed raspberry Wonderful Wallaby last night at Open mic. I tried to photograph it, but the camera phone in a darkish room just didn't work at all.
2. My birthday is Saturday, and I have no idea how I want to celebrate. Mr Ken is exasperated because I can't think of anything I want except a week with no evening obligations and at least 7 hours of sleep every night.
3. There are still more photos of Stitches West purchases to upload and describe. Sock yarn, shawl yarn and other goodies.
4. I've bought some old knitting magazines recently too. There are some lovely classic designs that I hope to be able to size to fit modern bodies.
5. Weight Watchers Online is awesome. I've always stayed away from WW because of the meetings, but I can do this.
6. Yesterday at work, a co-worker who always looks great in a trendy modern way told me I was very "Chanel-ly" and that she admired the way I was always "put together, right down to the perfect funky accessories". Several other people said had similar comments. I was wearing a twinset and skirt that I wear every couple of week with exactly the same accessories, and no one has ever said boo before.
7. The weekend was beautiful - 74* in the backyard, sunny and just a hint of a breeze. I worked like a dog, hauling bags of soil amendment, filling wheelbarrows with compost, filling one 8' by 4' raised bed and half filling another. This weekend is predicted rainy, which will be great for planting. I've really missed working in the garden!
8. It is possible to have too many cats. I love 'em all anyway.
9. More than a year ago I bought yarn and Easter egg colors - planning to dye the yarn. It's still not done. It's about time I gave dyeing a whirl.
10. I'm logged in to work, so bye for now.
